Apple TV

Does Apple TV support just plain old Antenna TV and not a subscription service? I cannot seem to sync the settings with anything like this. What comes up is Cox, Spectrum, etc.

No. The Apple TV box is a streaming device and requires a subscription to a streaming service or current cable TV or satellite Tv service to access subscription based streaming services.

It is not an antenna receiver.

You may find things like Pluto TV are free to use, require no subscription and provide live TV. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pluto-tv-live-tv-and-movies/id751712884

Apple TV takes input from online streaming services through apps. It doesn’t handle actual antenna input.

One exception is through the HDHomeRun tuner and antenna-to-network stream converter box, and the use of the Channels app to pick up that home network stream from HDHomeRun.

You can of course switch between antenna input and Apple TV input on your TV, without needing the above.
