Military discount

Does the military discount (verified through ID.me) work on the Apple Store app? I have recent orders from this past holiday sale and even got gift cards from the sale. My military status was verified on Google Chrome Apple website with my Apple account logged in (the “Veterans and Military Store Home” menu on top of screen was showing). I thought that indicated my military status being verified. When I purchased my items, I used the Apple Store app with the same verified account logged in and purchased my items. On the app, there was no option asked for any discount codes during payment, however, since I was already verified, I thought my military discount would still be already applied somehow. After payment, I noticed none of my orders have the military discount applied. I called regarding this issue and the Apple Specialist stated that I should’ve logged in ID.me for verification (which I did on web browser) initially. Specialist also stated for my discount to be applied, I can cancel/return my orders and reorder the same items again, which I think might be impossible because I the orders has Apple gift cards which is part of the promo during the holiday sale.

Has anyone else had this problem? Do you know any contact info whom I can reach to (not the Apple Specialist on text/chat and the Specialist on the phone number 1-800-676-2775 either because they do not know the answer)?
