Erase all content and settings option grayed out

I am attempting to wipe my Ipad Pro 2nd gen (erase all content and settings) running ios 15.1, but the option to do so is "grayed out", i.e. not available. The reset option is available, however I want to wipe the device completely.

Of note, I did establish a new apple ID (I could not remember the original log in). I did recall during the process that I had a prior ID so I signed in and out of Icloud with the original ID. I am not sure if this caused the problem or not, but am trying to figure out how to remedy it now.

Thanks in advance!

Try all the steps here. The especially important step is the first bullet under step 3.
