I bought a 16 inch Mac Book Pro Max with one gig of storage. Now I realize I do not need this much power but need more storage (4 gigs). I am trying to return the 16 inches, Max, for a 14 inch with 4gig storage. What is the best way to do this? Thanks.

Yes, you can, there is no problem…both Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.2 Gen2 are fast enough to run video and audio from the external drive and also edit straight from the drive no need to transfer back to the Mac
You can always buy an external Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.2 Gen2 2TB NVME SSD drive… saves you the hassle of running around trying to return it…
