Do NOT install McAfee! Anti-virus and other cleaners have no place on a Mac. They cause performance issues, cause security issues, and makes macOS appear buggy. macOS has built-in security:

I bought a McAfee security card good for 3 devices. I put it on my desktop computer, my iPhone an my iPad. I’m having trouble with all 3. But I don’t understand why a internet company would try to sell it to customers. I have tried to uninstall it but it comes back on. What should I do ?

Uninstalling McAfee is problematic and is part of the reason anti-virus app shouldn’t be installed.

This link describes removal from a Mac. I’ve never needed to use it so I can’t validate it. There are other methods to be found but do not install any cleanup apps if told to do so.
