Messages Scrambling words on MacBrook Pro

Using a MacBook Pro 2017 macOS Big Sure: when I type a text (often when it's a longer text) using Messages, it will randomly start to scramble my words up that I have typed. No reason I can come up with that it is doing this - it's like once a text gets to 1 paragraph or several sentences in length, it just randomly scrambles up some words (into nonsense words) and moves letters around. It just continues to get worse scrambling words as I continue to type. Sometimes if I click out of messages into another program and then go back, it will stop scrambling long enough to type my message and get it sent out. I have shut down/restarted my laptop to no avail. I think it was doing this before I upgraded to BigSure a few months back as well. I've had this computer since 2017 and it did not do this until some time during this 2021 year. Help?!!

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, aeclay.

If we understand your post correctly, words get scrambled when you're typing in the Messages app on your MacBook Pro. We’d like to help.

Safe mode will tell us if the issue is related to a startup item or plugins, and sometimes corrects the issue.

This article will tell you how to start in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac
