I have a 16" Mac Book Pro (2021 edition). When I put the machine to sleep and attach charging cable with screen closed, the machine will beep every few seconds while charging. If I shut down the machine, close screen and attach charging cable, the beeping sound does not happen.
Can this sound be turned off? I cannot seem to locate where to cease this annoying sound.

Have you tried plugging in the MagSafe to the mains before you actually plug it to the Mac? does it make a sound?
Does it make a sound if you attach the MagSafe first before putting it to sleep?
I tried plugging MagSafe into wall then to MAC. No sound this time. Will monitor for now. Thanks a bunch.
I get a beep with every flash of the charging light when the 16-inch MBP M1 Pro is powered off with the lid closed. If I open the lid, it boots and the repetitive beep ends. The order of connecting the charger and MagSafe-3 connector makes no difference.
I am hoping for a firmware update in macOS 12.1 that fixes both this annoying charging beep and the automatic boot sequence when the lid is opened.
