Apple Time Capsule, failing hard drive.

Is it worth replacing the hard drive in an airport time capsule? Second question, would the router function if I just disconnect and remove the drive altogether?

No, if the Time Capsule is 5+ years old since the power supply is also now due to fail.


Second question, would the router function if I just disconnect and remove the drive altogether?


Yes, as long as the power supply holds out and you don't mind a constant blinking amber light on the product.
