I select block at downtime but it does not block.

Why do I select block at downtime for my child, but the iPad does not block at the selected times? I've selected apps to not work during downtime, but they still work.

Hey there Feyona,

We certainly want to help get Screen Time working as intended, especially since you've already set specific apps to be blocked.

Let's start with some basics:

  1. Does this occur with all apps you set to be blocked, or only some of them?
  2. If your child has a compatible model, the latest version is iPadOS 15.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  3. Has this been the case ever since setting up Screen Time, and if not, when did it start to occur?
  4. Any steps tried so far, like a restart for example?

Take care!

Thanks for replying, but I've already downloaded the latest update and restarted the iPad. This is an issue I've had for a while now, ever since setting up Screen Time. I was hoping the updates would fix the problem, but it doesn't.

None of the apps I select are blocked, even though I've specifically selected them to be blocked at downtime. The iPad still works for everything at downtime.
