Is there a way to make the calendar a full screen widget?

I’ve recently switched from a Droid to an iPhone. On my droid, the calendar widget could be set to full screen continuously without having to open the widget. Is there a way to do that on iPhone?

No. This is because the Widget sizes are predefined by the iOS.

of course, you can always tap on the Calendar Widget, that you may have created, and that will open the Calendar app which will fill up the screen. I know you knew this, however, I do not have a better recommendation.
