Does anyone know what happened to paid for apps like amc after update. Any way to access them

AMC+/AMC is and was a free app, although the access to content requires a subscription.

Apps that were paid for, are yours to keep on compatible devices.

Discontinued apps may become useless if there is no content provider server to connect to.

Discontinued apps can’t be re-downloaded. They’re not available in the App Store (anymore).

Apps that have become incompatible with the current version system software cannot be launched. The only remedy is if the app developer releases a new compatible version. Good app developers and app publishers anticipate this, and have a new version ready when users update their devices with release version system software.

Apps have minimum system requirements. If you don’t update the system software on your device, then you might be cut off when the old app version isn’t valid anymore, and the new version isn’t compatible until you update.

(Users with beta software might run into issues that apps trail behind in versioning compared to system software. The beta user accepted this risk by joining the program. Beta is not a solution to current issues.)
