My videos won’t play after the new update

After the download of 15.1.1 my videos won’t play on my phone.

If you see that the videos are recorded on your iPhone but not playing, are these synced with iCloud or are they stored locally on your iPhone? If you're unsure, check out the following resource for information on how to determine if you use iCloud Photos. If you do use iCloud Photos, check to see if you have "Optimize iPhone Storage" or "Download and Keep Originals" selected via your settings.


Set up and use iCloud Photos


If you're seeing that the videos are uploaded to iCloud then sync back to your iPhone, be sure that the video isn't showing the cloud symbol to confirm that it's stored on your iPhone as opposed to relying on your network to play the video. If you see that the video is downloaded and still can't play, do you see that you're able to send the video to a friend for them to play the video?


Lastly, if you use iCloud Photos, see if you can play the video on another device or iCloud.com to see if this is isolated to your iPhone. If you see that this is isolated to your iPhone without a resolution to play the video, it would be best to Contact Apple Support to look into this in more detail.
