I can’t find any Iowa cities on the world clock. I have family there and wanted to set it as one of my locations . I’ve looked up Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and several other large cities. Any suggestions? And they really should let you look by state.

It sounds like you are unable to locate any cities from a particular state in the World Clock.
Here's a resource on this topic. Review See the time in cities worldwide on iPhone. It is expected behavior to not see most cities in the World Clock including cities from Iowa. When adding a city, you would choose one from the same time zone such as Austin, Tx or Chicago, IL. You can, however, ask Siri "What time is it in Des Moines, Iowa" and get a response.
If that's a feature you'd like to see added in a future release, be sure to leave Product Feedback.

Well, you’re right! There appears to be discrimination against Iowa in the Clock app; I tried lots of Iowa cities and couldn’t find a single one. However, Minneapolis is north of Iowa and is in the same time zone so that is one option.

Pretty sure there are no northern New England locations listed across the three states, either. Also surprising that the Contacts app list doesn’t automatically include a default timezone field, too. As for the selection of municipalities, I’d guess this is all driven off the tz database and the CLDR.
I have a 3rd party World Clock app from Impala Studios that has several Iowa cities, but it appears to be no longer available; I’m sure there are other 3rd party apps.
Weird isn’t it? I swear it used to be there but maybe I’m thinking of the weather app. I have family all over and like to check the time before I text and call people. I’ll just add Minneapolis. Thanks!
