Why does the sound on FaceTime not work?

Now that the newest iOS update has been updated to my phone why does my sound on FaceTime go out? I can’t hear anything at all.

Which device are you using FaceTime with? Is that device updated? Do you have any other issues with audio on this same device?


If you're using an iPhone, these resource can be helpful:


If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open


If those don't help your issue, let us know more about what's going on and we'll go from there.

Thanks for keeping us updated.


Does this happen with only one contact or multiple contacts? Are you using FaceTime video or audio when this happens? Is the mute button enabled when this happens?


If the steps we provided earlier didn't help, it may be best to Contact Apple Support to have them look into this with you further.
