17 Inch Unibody MacBook Pro Doesn't Do anything

So, I have my old 17 Inch Unibody MacBook Pro and I wanted to see if it still worked in case I could try and sell it. But upon further trying to turn the thing on, it just won't show any signs of life. It would sometimes charge but nothing else would happen. I tried all the solutions;

  • SMC Reset
  • PRAM Reset
  • Battery & Power adapter swaps
  • SSD Swaps
  • Checked & Cleaned the board

Nothing worked. Does anyone have any ideas/Solutions that can help?

I want to be able to sell this and make a bit of money from it since it is just taking up space!

Disconnect the battery and try powering on the laptop using just the charger. A completely drained battery can prevent an Apple laptop from powering on or even charge. Sometimes you may need to press the power button several times or perhaps even hold the power button press a second longer in order to power on the laptop using just the charger when the battery is disconnected. You may also need to try another SMC Reset with this configuration.

Double-check the Magsafe port on the laptop to make sure a small bit of metal or a staple is not stuck to the magnet on the port. Also wiggle the charger cable on the Magsafe port since sometimes a charger doesn't make good contact. If this does not allow you to power on the laptop, then there is a good possibility that the laptop has a bad GPU which is common with the 17" models which sometimes can manifest with not being able to power on.
