Homepod handoff not working with only my iPhone

Hello there,

It has been a while since I have this issue. I used to have iPhone 7 and purchased big Homepod. From the start everything was ok and handoff worked flawlessly. But then (I suspect that this changed with iOS update to iOS 13 or 14 I cant remember corectly) handoff just stopped working. I tried everything from restarting iphone to log out apple ID. But nothing worked So I lost hope. Then I bought iPhone 13 Pro with hope handoff will work again. But It doesnt. But Airplay is ok, only handoff is the problem.

I am on same wifi, everything is set up just right. My girlfriend's iPhone 11 works with this homepod without single problem, same goes for handoff.

Also, we got another Homepod (mini) in our home and handoff works with both iPhones.

So my question is, what is wrong with this big Homepod? Is there anything wrong with my apple ID? Is it somehow bugged?

I am desperate, thx for help!

HomePod, 15

TomHurnik,

Thanks for trying those steps out.

Do you have a case on the device that's having the issue? If so, try removing it for a moment and attempt it again.

It can also help to try restarting the router you're using.

We noted you mentioned trying a restart of the HomePod, have you also tried a reset of it? This does reset the HomePod back to factory settings, to clarify. If needed, the steps for that are here: Reset HomePod

Take care.

Hello TomHurnik,

We see you're having issues with Handoff on your HomePod, and we'd like to help out.

First, use the info here to check to see if your iCloud account that's signed in is the same as the default account for the HomePod: Change HomePod settings

You'll also want to check that you have iCloud Keychain enabled for your Apple ID (Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Keychain).

When checking for them being on the same Wi-Fi network, quickly double-check to see that one isn't on a 5GHz and the other on a 2.4GHz version of the network.

It may also help to try resetting your HomePod: Reset HomePod

Cheers.

Hello Eric,

I made sure that iCloud account that's signed in is the same asi the default account for the HomePod.

iCloud Keychain is also enabled.

Same goes for Wi-Fi settings and my iPhone and HomePod are on the same network.

As I mentioned earlier, my girlfriend's iPhone work flawlessly with big HomePod.

Seriously, I tried everything from restart HomePod to sign off iCloud on my iPhone.

It just has to be some sort of software issue.

Cheers.

Tom
