Error when opening ppt file - Repair, occurred when converting from older to new ppt 'Sorry PowerPoint Can't Red'

Hello-

I recently had to download a new version of ppt and since then one of my files is corrupted. I get the error message 'Sorry powerpoint can't read'. See attached screen grabs. The file has a $ in front of it as well.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

Greetings SDMama1213,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are having trouble with an error you're receiving on a PowerPoint file. It began after you've downloaded a new version.

As a first step, you might want to check the file itself: View and restore past versions of documents on Mac. You'd want to see if there is more than 1 version since updating the software. If so see if you're able to open a previous version or create a new download.

If it's still not working, you should get support from Microsoft. They might have the solution for your needs with their product.

We hope this helps!
