I am unable to Disable scan text feature. Camera starts to look for text even if I want to type, It hides some portion of the keyboard. Please help
I have had the same problem. A nice person has posted this somewhere, not really good with fora.

Go to Settings > General > Language & Region. Then turn off the toggle button next to “Live Text“.
You can turn it off in the photo preference tab in the Settings App. Hope it helps!

I can no longer use cut/copy & paste. When I try it just pops up a scan text box which then activates the camera? This happens in all apps, even browsers. Searched the settings, searched the help, searched online, but found nothing helpful. I restarted my iPad, didn’t fix it, I reset my iPad, didn’t fix it.
Running v15.1 on iPad Air 3.
I’m having exactly the same problem, ever since I did the last update. The keyboard won’t come up, just the scan text. So I can’t put my password in to websites or make purchases. It so frustrating, does anyone know how to disable this function. Thanks
A recent update and now I can’t turn off scan text. I can’t log into my health portal to check with doctors and other websites because it won’t allow me to type in my password. I also can’t turn off my iPad.
I'm having the same issue. When I try to copy and paste the Scan Text option shows up.

What exactly do you mean by the “photo preference tab” in Settings? It’s not clear to me.
Again, same issue. I do not want to use the “scan text “option but want to use the keyboard which often will not show up.
That turned off the scanning problem, but the keyboard still doesn’t pop up.

Thank you Sqweebo. I was having the issue with screen text. I also pasted in the notes section and now I am able to paste on a web page text box. Many thanks for your post. You are a lifesaver…I was so frustrated :)

I can’t access the keyboard to login on some apps. The scanning camera popped up when this happened the first time. I disabled live camera scanning but the keyboard is still missing when I try to login. This happens randomly, the keyboard is there sometimes but nit always. My login access is crucial, I travel for academic work and am required to maintain online access to essential apps / software..
That hasn’t worked!
