Apple ID split

My wife and I have been using my apple ID since long before the whole family sharing option was available. Now our podcasts and up next lists are becoming jumbled and we want to have her apple ID used on her phone.

Problem is I don't know how to switch to her apple ID on her phone without losing anything. Mainly worried about losing her notes and some of her settings.

To make it more difficult, our laptop is too small to backup her whole phone. We are using iCloud to backup everything.

I guess a secondary question is since we are both logged in to iCloud with my apple ID on our respective phones. Are our backups separate since we have 2 different phones, a 13 Pro and a 11 Pro Max?

When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. If possible, also set up Family Sharing  between the IDs to keep access to your apps/purchases.

The backups should be separate since it is two different iPhones.
