Your iPhone and mac must be on the same wi-fi network

After installing Monterey on my MacBook Pro Retina 13" early 2015, I have a problem to initiate a call from my MacBook via my FaceTime/iPhone. When the MacBook tries to start a call, I receive a FaceTime message "Your iPhone and Mac must be on the same Wi-Fi network", which they are. I tried several Wi-Fi networks but still getting the same message. I can still receive a call on my MacBook though. It worked seamlessly before the update. I spent some time on a call with Apple support but we ended up reinstalling Mac OS, which did not help. I consider whether I shall go back to Catalina, which was the last "no problem-Mac OS" for my MacBook but would like to keep this solution as a last resort...

What I did already: 1) turned off my devices, 2) checked settings - Wi-Fi calling on my iPhone is On, Calls from iPhone in Facetime on my Mac is On, 3) reinstalled Mac OS.

Thanks for your help.

So, I FINALLY found a solution that works for me.

Firewall stays ON, but in the firewall settings I just unchecked the box "Block all incoming connections" (translation from my language). It worked. Then I played little bit with the other boxes to strengthen security and it still works. Great. Thank you.

I have a MacBook Pro running macOS 10.14.6 Mojave and an iPhone SE 2020 running iOS 14.8.1 and for the last month I have had the same issue and error message: "Your iPhone and Mac have to be on the same WI-FI network."

I have checked in the Security & Privacy System Preferences Firewall and it was already off. I chose to forget my wifi network on both devices and then logged back in on both devices and I still get the same error message.

It seems to me that this is happening to a lot of users regardless of which version of Apple Operating System (both Mac & iPhone) they have. I think something has changed on Apple side controlling FaceTime calling.

Could there be anything wrong in the settings of my wi-fi network or my router that makes this problem? I am sure that the two devices are connected to the same network, I even tried others at my home, I can check their IP addresses, one is 192.168.1.27, the other is 192.168.1.39... How can he think that these are different networks? There must be an issue with this...
