Bedtime Alarm on Apple Watch

The bedtime alarm will only go off on my watch if I wear it to sleep. Is it possible for the alarm to go off on my phone while with my watch on.

Notifications and alerts such as Bedtime will only go to Apple Watch or iPhone, not both: Notifications on your Apple Watch

Thanks for your suggestion, though the alarm setting on the phone seems all right and beneath these options states "when you wear your Apple Watch to bed, the alarm will go off on your watch". Just wondering if this is changeable.
