IphoneX battery issue since iOS 15.1

My battery indicator on my iphone X randomly shows 1%, I get a low battery warning, and then it jumps back up to 90% or higher when I put it on the charger (I exclusively wireless charge). I've restarted the phone, would hate to have to reset the device but will if needed.

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your battery health on your iPhone.

First, i would recommend confirming what the maximum capacity is within Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201264

If your maximum capacity is underneath 80%, the battery requires service and is eligible for replacement.

I would also recommend to only use Apple manufactured chargers vs third party chargers. If the third party charger is not MFI certified, this can damage your battery.

Hope this helps!

It will almost certainly need a new battery at least. The update will be either coincidental or the stress finished off an already weak hardware.

If you have it repaired you will have to backup and restore to factory anyway.

Anything other than Screen or Battery may be a replacement phone and the price is in the article.

Why am I sorry?

“Sorry to hear you are having issues with your battery health”

I didn’t think this generic statement would require clarification out of the response given, but, nonetheless, I am “sorry” that the user is experiencing inconveniences with the battery runtime/life on his/her iPhone. This can be frustrating with daily use of the product, so I am simply “sorry” that the user is inconvenienced, and tried to provide available options to reach a resolution.

Hope this helps clarify!
