Off brand apple style lighting wired headphones

Why is it that I bought this pair of off brand apple lighting port wired headphones and it’s requiring me to use Bluetooth to play music, I plug them in and I can’t play music through them unless Bluetooth is on. What is the reason this is even a issue. I looked up results and other people have this issue as well please help!
