purchased songs downloaded from amazon playable on apple music app?
I have about 600 songs purchased from Amazon music on my iPhone Xs. Amazon music app has become such a hassle to use when I just want to play my own purchased music that I’m looking for another way to play it.
With my first iPhone, I purchased one song from Apple iTunes. I purchased some from Amazon. Amazon’s app would play Apple tune but Apple’s app wouldn’t play anything I bought from Amazon, so I chose to buy from them.
Today I can’t listen to the songs I purchased from Amazon because the Amazon music app is having problems and won’t let me, even off-line, which is how I always listen to it. The app is not recognizing my password—which it never needed or asked for before—and so it won’t let me access my music, even offline. That’s neither here nor there, but I’m just explaining. I’ve wanted a new music player anyway because Amazon’s is an increasing hassle.
So my questions are:
Is there any way the Apple music player can be adapted to play songs downloaded from Amazon?
Are there other apps that play songs that were purchased from Amazon?
I’m thinking this: if Apple wants to convert Android users to Apple, how can it do that if their products/software refuse to play the music that Android users have invested in? If someone has $1000 worth of music from Amazon, that person would be hard-pressed to change to an iPhone if they have to give up all that music or buy it all over again from Apple. But everything I read at the App store says it plays music you purchased from Apple.
Do apps like Spotify play purchased music?
Sorry this is so long. I want a music player that will play the songs I downloaded and own. I’ll happily buy it, but I don’t want a monthly subscription.
Thanks for any help.
I’m an ios version behind, if that’s an issue, because I don’t have wifi anymore and can’t upgrade without it. I can’t afford cable service right now and I don’t have an Apple computer either, so any advice that requires that won’t help. (Just don’t see why I can’t upgrade on my phone service; it seems to me that Apple is saying, “If you can’t afford cable, you can’t afford us.” The old “If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.” Well, I have to ask.
Thank you to whoever might know an answer. Happy holidays, whatever your creed.
