BATTERY drain MacBook Air

early 2015 MacBook Air, New battery installed (max 8000 mah) running Monterey

a) plugged IN and charging.

b) Powered OFF and clamshell closed before going to bed

c) this a.m. when opening the clamshell ... MacBook Air ALREADY ON and of course fully charged

d) after some research I see MacBook Air turned itself ON just after midnight and did all sorts of "things"

below is a little example of what MacBook Air did just after midnight:

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.


We understand your battery is draining. You mentioned that "things" were done. What "things" are being done on your Mac? If you notice unexpected behavior, restart your Mac first. Make sure you're running the latest available software for you Mac. Open Activity Monitor > CPU tab and check for high running processes. Activity Monitor User Guide expands on identifying and closing processes that shouldn't be running.
