No “open web links in news” setting

I have News+ via Apple One. I am running a 13 pro max, fully updated. The settings app has no “open web links in news” option and news is also not a choice in the share menu. Aren’t these supposed to be options?

Hey SG8765,

The option was available in iOS 14, however it is no longer available in iOS 15. If you would like to submit feedback or suggestions about this to Apple, you may do so here: Product Feedback.

Best wishes.

Hey SG8765,

When attempting to share a news article in Safari, did you tap the more icon "..." and look at the "Suggestions" list?

In regards to the Twitter app, you will not see the "News" app option. If you access Twitter via the Safari app, and tap the article that is in the tweet, you should get the "News" app option. You will not get the "News" app option if you attempt to share the tweet itself.

Best wishes.

Hi SG8765,

We understand you're not seeing News as an option to share, and also there isn't an option to "Open in News". News is shared in the Messages app. From the News app, select the content you want to share, tap the Share icon, and then select Messages. For more information, click here: Use Messages to receive and share content with friends on iPhone.

In order to open content from Safari, it must be available in the Apple News app. If it isn't available, you will receive a message similar to this "Story Unavailable. This store is not available in Apple News". If you're not seeing "Open in News", check to see if the News app is listed.

Take care.

Hi - thank you, but this is not really the issue. I’m not trying to share the link with other people. I’m trying to use the share sheet to open that link inside of News for myself. The share sheet can be theoretically used to do that, but the option is not available to me.

The other issue is also not what I’m asking about. I’m talking about articles that are available in News plus. This option is never available to me. And also the entire setting that would allow this to happen is completely missing from the settings app. See pic below for what I am missing

The bottom line is that I am not ever able to open any link inside of the news app, even where it is certainly available inside of the news app. my only option is to search for them.See attachment

Well, this would explain it, although it would not explain why a phone support and senior phone support kept me on the phone for 90 minutes and then told me to erase my phone in order to make it work.

Is it also supposed to be missing from the share sheet?

Thank you for making me understand that there's no issue!
