“Find people” is disabled on my phone

I got this iPhone from a friend in Hong Kong. Everything worked fine except I cannot see the option “people” on Find my. I tried looking for the app on the Apple Store but no luck, got the message “this app requires specific functions this devices does not have”. I thought all iPhones were kind of the same. Is there any fix to this? I also tried changing the region but the problem persists.

HiAndresGardies,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you're unable to locate people using Find My and you were able to review Set up and use Find My Friends in iOS 12 or earlier. From he details provided, you own an iPhone X. You can upgrade to the latest iOS version in Settings > General > Software Update. Find My is a built-in app that doesn't need additional steps to install. Make sure that the region on your iPhone matches your current region and that of your Apple ID. Set up Find My on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.

If you a VPN, profile installed for work or school purposes, disable VPN and remove any profile configurations that you did not install or do not need. Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone

Regards.
