Is this being performed from an old Bootable Installer of Sierra ?

If so, turn the Clock back on the computer to 2014 - Yes 2014 no mistake.

The Apple Certificate for the Bootable Installer has expired.

i'm having this same issue after my daughter tried to wipe her mac.

i get to the point of trying to reinstall macOS Sierra, but it errors out with the "no bag entry" message.

there's no start up disk when i look in the disk utility. only the base os x drive.

Any of these appearing and if so, resolutions are within the correspond area
