Ipod will not sync with Apple music

My Ipod older generation will not sync with apple music; how do I download itunes in Monterey to sync my music library?

HI,

You cannot sync content that comes from an Apple Music subscription. Syncing in Monterey is managed in Finder rather than the Music app. iTunes isn't supported in Catalina or later.

Thank you; I don't have an Apple Music subscription; I only want to sync my local music content to my ipod; which I have been able to do no problem until about 3 days ago.
