iPad fitness app can’t find my apple watch

I recently (two days ago) upgraded my phone to the 13 Pro and have honestly had no end of problems with it- the latest being that my Apple Watch won’t connect to the fitness app on my iPad- it just keeps saying it can’t find it.

I have tried the trick of opening the home app on both my iPhone and my iPad, turned all three devices on and off, and signed in and out of iCloud, nothing has worked.

Hi Cait2708,

It seems you're having trouble with your Apple Watch connecting to your iPad and we can help.

Is your iPad signed in with the same Apple ID for your iPhone and Apple Watch?

Your Apple Watch is going to need to communicate through continuity for this to work for Fitness +.

Are other continuity and handoff functions working?

Check through the steps here:

Use Handoff to continue tasks on your other devices

Make sure your network is configured to minimize wireless interference as well:
