Is there a way to remove the text selection magnifying glass?

My dad recently moved to an iPhone X and likes things just the way they are. He was very unhappy when the text selection magnifying glass feature returned to iOS 15 when I updated his phone. I know many people are happy that the feature is back, but his preference is different.

Is there an option or a slider to remove the feature? I already checked Messages in Settings and Keyboard in Accessibility and there isn’t.

iPhone XR, iOS 14
