I just bought a leather Apple wallet. When I touch it to the phone it says “not your wallet”. How do I fix that?

I just bought a new leather Apple wallet. I get this message when I attach it. How do I fix it?

Let's start with some basics:

  1. What occurs when you tap on 'Unlock to Learn More'?
  2. If you have a compatible model, the latest version is iOS 15.1.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  3. Have you tried a restart of your iPhone? If not, this link shows how to Restart your iPhone.
