Is there a specific adapter for usb c ( 2017 MacBook Pro 25”) to Ethernet port on 2011 13@ MacBook Pro? Or would usb c to thunder bolt port in the old Mac be better for file transfers? I still have snow leopard running on the 2011 13” MacBook Pro, because I have hundred of GarageBand 6.05 and earlier projects and love these versions and enjoy working with them, and need to stick with snow leopard in order to do that! ( and I’m not the only one!

Use USB-C in Target Disk Mode:

To transfer, use the appropriate adapters, and then perform the transfer in Target Disk Mode. See your Options here: Transfer Files Between two Mac Computers Using Target Disk Mode - Apple Support
