Apple TV broken remote

Until yesterday I was using the remote app very fine since my remote broke long time ago. Then iOS updated and the app doesn’t exist anymore and I have to access through control center. But it asks to type a code in the Apple TV for pairing. How can I do that if I don’t have the control, for god sake?! If I had it I wouldn’t have to use the app. Literally f-up my life.
