RAID drive disconnects when Mac Pro goes to sleep

I have a few RAID or JBOD drives in my Mac Pro 2019, and two of them are causing issues by either not showing when I start up, or disconnect when the computer goes to sleep.

In fact, it's pretty much the same pattern:

  • When I wake the computer from sleep, it informs me the 4TB RAID has disconnected
  • Restart computer and it will either still be missing, and I'll restart again, or it's back and the 3TB JBOD has disappeared)

The raid drives are :

4 x WD Blue SN550 1TB NVME on 2 x Lycom DT-130 Dual PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD Carrier Adapter (so a 4TB Raid across two dual NVME adapters)

2TB Sabrent Rocket Q NVME + 1TB WD Blue SN550 1TB NVME, both on individual Sabrent PCIe cards (so a 3TB JBOD across two individual PCIe cards)

All drives are now

All trim has been enabled

All drives have had first aid ran on them

Any help would be appreciated, as it's quite frustrating losing the drives in the middle of working days.

They're using bus power. So that may affect it, and I understand what you're saying about the drop in power during sleep.

But sometimes I just start up the Mac Pro and one of them is missing. (like just now, the JBOD is not showing, but is in disk utility and when I try to mount it says "invalid disk") So that's the only thing that's confusing me. If it was just bus power during sleep, why do they sometimes not show up when awake or started up?
