Scanning Slides with Epson V500 Photo

I recently switched to an M1-based iMac running OS 12 (Monterey). I want to digitize some slides using my Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner as I had done in the past.

Image Capture (v. 8.0) does not give an option for slides/negatives, and Epson Easy Photo Scan can't find the driver (I've downloaded and installed what Epson says is the correct driver).

Any suggestions for troubleshooting or alternate free/inexpensive slide scanning software?

Thanks.
