iCloud 'storage full' error - but I have Family Sharing

Hi all!

I'm getting "your iCloud storage is full" errors on both my iPhone and Macbook. It says I only have 5GB of storage, but I have recently been added to a friend's Family Sharing, so I actually have 2TB of storage. It worked for a while (I have about 200GB of files stored in iCloud already), but it recently stopped uploading or syncing anything. Quite inconvenient since I have a brand new iPhone 13 right here and I can't wait to get it started :)

(I tried contacting Apple Support but it only gives me the option to call, which isn't possible since it's night. If there's an option to chat or send an email, please let me know)

Region: the Netherlands

Thanks in advance!

Hello RikAms91! Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you’re getting an alert that iCloud storage is full. We'd like to look into this with you to see how we can help.

It’s possible that the family organizer stopped sharing their iCloud storage. As seen here, an organizer can choose to stop sharing: Change the services family members use in Family Sharing on Mac

Have you checked with the family organizer?

Make it a great day!
