Apple Music sync library keeps unchecking every launch

I thought this issue was resolved but it seems I keeps happening.

Whenever I close and reopen Music on my M1 24" iMac (12.0.1), my Sync Library box unchecks itself.

It's not a major issue but annoying to have to keep remembering to do this.

Anyone else run into it?

Seems to be resolved now...it was a permissions issue on the folder where I keep all the music downloads.

Apple Music app keeps crashing Mac OS 12.6 The Music app on my MBP was not set to Sync Library. When I checked this box in Music > Preferences, the app crashed within a few seconds. Restarting the app only results in a nearly instant crash. When I start the app in Safe Mode, it works just fine, except it is not actually syncing my playlists with my other devices. It says it has temporarily disabled any visual plugins that I may have installed, but I haven't installed any. The Library > iTunes > iTunes Plug-Ins folder is empty. When I try to uncheck the Sync Library when Music is open in Safe Mode, I hit 'save' but re-opening Preferences reveals that the box is still checked. I can uncheck other boxes and these changes are saved. Only the 'Sync Library' refuses to allow itself to be unchecked. When I tried to delete and reinstall Music, it refused to let me delete the app either by command-delete or dragging it to the trash. And yes, I rebooted. I have two goals: I want Music to run normally, and I want it to sync downloads and changes to my playlists to my other devices. (I do get instant syncing between my 2010 iMac and my phone--just my MBP won't sync.) I am running Mac OS 12.6 Monterey. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Something is missing on my Music app preferences I'm having a difficult time synchronizing my iTunes/Music library on my Mac with my iPad. In searching around, I found this page of the Apple Support site. It looked like what I need as it shows a "sync library" option in the Music app's prefs (see image). The bad news is that my version of Music doesn't have that particular option (See next image)! The referenced article was published in Oct 2022. I'm running Monterey 12.6.5 on a 2019 27" iMac Music app is version 1.2.5.7 [edited to add images] I've been scouring the web for a place to download a new Music app that has this option that will work on Monterey. Note that I have no desire to use Ventura as it has messed up its system preferences into an indecipherable mess (for me, at least). Any help on this would be gratefully accepted. Tod

Apple Music on Macos not saving music in playlists after editing I have been experiencing an issue with Apple Music on MacOs whereby adding tracks to a playlist does not appear to save after the application is closed down. When the Music app is reopened the music tracks do not appear in any of the playlists I have just added them in. I have trawled Google for answers and there does not seem to be an immediate fix, in spite of the fact that other Mac users are experiencing the exact same issue. I am running MacOs Ventura on a 2021 14" M1 MacBook Pro with all the latest updates. For comparison, I have a 2012 iMac running MacOs Catalina that has zero problems saving tracks to playlists in the Music app. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.
