My preserved BigSur updater.app is not working on my MBP due to recent changes to BigSur. I am not yet ready to move to Monterey.

Terminal not working how.... I do not see your command line to compare the issue...

however you can try this copy and paste:

sudo softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 11.6.1

The result I see—

MacBook-Pro ~ % sudo softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 11.6.1

Password:

Scanning for 11.6.1 installer

Installing: 10.0%...

if no insight or resolve I would simply wait and try again at a later date.

I was able to download it last night (10 Dec/~8pm MST) via softwareupdate. And, listing the installers works, now.

I wonder if something else is blocking access to the software update server. VPN, useless internet "security" software??
