All loops missing in garageband

Hi there...

About a month ago, all the loops in Garageband just disappeared.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing - but nothing works. I also have an old version of Logic Pro X - and the loops there are fine (after re-indexing). When I try to reinstall and re-index Garageband - no loops appear in the Loop Browser, and it says I have 0 items. In Logic Pro Loop Browser I have 24372 items.

Do they point to different loop collections?

I can see the folders for the loop files in:- Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Apple Loops > Apple

One of the folders in here is Apple Loops for Garageband.

I am really confused why Garageband cannot display these loops in teh loop browser.

Can anyone help?

I have the same issue with both Garageband and Logic. A have brand new MacBook Pro 14" M1 running OS 12.1, Garageband 10.4.5 & Logic 10.7.2 all the latest.

When I open a new session the loop browser will include many loops, most of which are greyed out. When I run reindex they all disappear (same for the GB and Logic).

I've tried

reinstalling logic

re-downloaded the entire library

rebooting

Reindex All Loops

dragging files from the samples from Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple folder into the loop browser.

deleting the index file from the Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index folder.

Nothing is working.

Please help

Thanks!
