Can I replace my macbook air A2179 Topcase (w/ Japan Keyboard) with a Topcase from the the same model A2179 (US Keyboard)?
Hi guys I would really appreciate some help, advice and a solution for my problem with my Macbook Air i3 Retina 2020 Model A2179 (Japan Variant). this comes with the Japan Keyboard. Unfortunately the right arrow keycase has broken and and housing for the right arrow button has also come off. I had asked an apple service center from where I am located. And they said they would need to check and see if they can find a Topcase w/ Japan Keyboard ( which would take 6-8 weeks). They would need to hold onto the macbook air also. I have note been able to find a Topcase replacement for my Model A2179 w/ Japan Keyboard. Does anyone know if I can replace my Macbook Air Topcase with the same topcase for model A2179 but with the US Keyboard instead? Is this a simple plug and play? Or do I need to also have software for the US Keyboard. I have pictures for help. Can someone please provide me the technical know how or if it is possible. Is there anything else that I need? I have added pictures of my Macbook Air Model A2179 w/ Japan Keyboard and the new Topcase for Model A2179 w/ US Keyboard. Please help. Thank you.
