purchase of an IPAD

my wife has an apple air Mac that is around 4-5 years old. all she really uses the Mac for is social media ... FaceTime ... and surfing the web ... etc. I was thinking about getting her and IPAD for Christmas. would it just as easy for her to use a new Mac?

It can’t 100% do all the same things are a Mac but it would be as easy to use yeah
