I purchased my phone a while ago and have never used the charger. I’ve just went to use it but it’s not a charger that fits any plugs ? Can I be sent one that’s actually useable please.

That is a USB-C cable which comes with all newer iPhone models (you didn't state which model you purchased). No, they will not send you another cable, either use an older cable you already own with an older USB-A power adapter or buy the Apple 20W USB-C power adapter or the Anker Nano 20W USB-C power adapter or something similar that in mFI certified. Combined with the cable you have this will give you fast charging.
