Automatic Ear Detection question!

I have Automatic Ear Detection on for Second generation with wireless charging case, for example, say I’m listening to music with both air pods, once I decided to remove one AirPod, music automatically shuts off and does not resume, I continuously have to return to my phone or Apple Watch and press play for listen to music again, how do I keep automatic ear detection on and also be able to alternate between air pods? This is the second pair of second generation I’ve owned, first one never had a problem, this second pair is difficult and frustrating.

According to the linked article, "AirPods also pause and resume playback when you remove one of your AirPods, or stop playback—and won't resume—when you remove both."

The issue I have is, when I remove ONE air-pod from my ear the music stops. The airpod that’s left inside my hear, the music will not resume playing, I have to go return to my phone or Apple Watch and physically press play for the music to continue.

say I have both air pods in, i then remove one ai pod, I would like for my music to continue to play, but it doesn’t, need help.

When you remove one side, the music is intended to pause and then resume when you place it back. If this is not happening, you can reset your AirPods using the steps in this link to see if that helps: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support
