How do I re-install Monterey
My MacBook Air (Early 2015) has been restarting itself.
I updated all software, still happens.
I sought Support from Apple - seems the best thing to do is re-install the iOS.
I did a SMC reset. Did a NVRAM reset too.
Shut down. Pressed Command+R. It went into Internet Recovery.
Then when I asked it to re-install Monterey - it says cannot find disk.
So I unplugged power cable - nothing else is connected - then repeated shut down and voila - the disk is visible.
tried installing. Failed.
So I thought perhaps there is some disk error.
Tried again, and when there was the Disk found - I tried installing the iOS - but it failed.
I tried again - Shut down, re-booted - went to Disk Utility. Sometimes the disk is there, sometimes its not.
I tried Erase (when Disk could be found). It didnt work.
So I wanted to repair - but it didn’t work either.
So I tried to go into safe mode. Doesn’t work anymore - it just keeps re-starting in a loop.
So now I’m re-starting. And hoping to get into the Disk Utility where it can find the disk and I can erase it so that it’s clean.
I hope that’s the best way for me to do a clean install of the Monterey iOS.
Please advise if there are better ways? Thank you.
