Bluetooth issues with Mac, airpods and any sort of 'call'.

I'm having some pretty frustrating issues with just generally degraded audio quality when I'm using my airpods, and connected to any sort of call. So, using either facetime or using the new voice chat feature (for whatever reason) on Roblox, the audio quality from any other tab, such as youtube, just drops tremendously. The same applies for another computer that our family has, but this problem applies to discord, and with voice calling specifically. I've tried using earbuds, and somehow that fixes it, at the expense of comfort and audio quality. This is really a big issue when I'm playing games, and not only the game audio is 'compromised', but the people who I'm talking with, their voices sound just as poor as the game audio.
