Personal hotspot

my personal hotspot (13pro) is not working. I've tried everything. my macbook does not connect to it.

Some random thoughts—


  • psswd are case sensitive
  • verify both WiFi & Bluetooth are turned on
  • Rebooting both iOS device and macOS device, maybe more than once if no resolve
  • go back to the old psswd and test in comparison(?)

so the suggestions are:


move closer (if not already close)

run Wireless Diagnostics -- that seems like a good idea, maybe it will suggest something

or cancel run diagnostics


did you get a for or six digit number to enter to "trust" the other device? entering that is required, you can not skip that step.


aslo, you may need to use


System preferences > network > your_HotSpot ...


to specify same additional configuration details
