Dell WD19TBS Thunderbolt Dock DisplayPort audio not working

I have a Dell WD19TBS thunderbolt dock and a Dell U2717D monitor, and I run macOS Monterey 12.1 on my Macbook Pro M1 2020. I use the Thunderbolt dock in clamshell mode (i.e. the lid is closed). The dock has both HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, however when using the DisplayPort, the audio does not work. It works only on the HDMI. I know the issue is not in the dock since the DisplayPort audio works when I am on a Windows laptop. Is there anything I can do to make it work?

Hello Skeidderf,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you can't hear any output audio when connected through DisplayPort. We'll do our best to assist with this.

We'd confirm the issue when you connect headphones to the Mac. Connecting headphones confirms that the output is able to play content and be heard through the headphones.

Also, we'd try out steps in: Change the sound output settings on Mac

If still unresolved, then you'd want to connect with Apple Support directly: Get Support

Wishing you well, take care.
