iPad as second display keeps failing (mouse won't appear)

Hi all,

I purchased an iPad specifically for using as a second display.

This has been working well until recently the mouse intermittently stops being able to move across to the second display, rendering it useless. The display is connected (I can see the applications on it) but I cannot actually access it with the mouse. The only way I seem to be able to get it to work again is to disconnect and reconnect again but minutes later it stops working again.

I'm on Monterey 12.0.1, and the iPad is up to date as well.

Hi Katefrancisdesign,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

We understand the mouse isn't working in your Sidecar setup with your Mac and iPad. Make sure both Mac and iPad have been restarted. Both devices need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Toggle Handoff off and on on both iPad and Mac. Use Handoff to continue tasks on your other devices If continued, restart Mac while in safe mode. This will limit startup items while running a health check on your startup disk. How to use safe mode on your Mac

Regards.
