Health App Step Count is Delayed with iOS 15.2

I've noticed it takes a lot longer for the Health App to update the step count after my iPhone was upgraded to iOS 15.2. This makes it really hard to use the app to track my steps while on a walk. Have any of you noticed the same thing? Is there anything that can be done about this?

Good afternoon GaryB777,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you are seeing a delay in the Health app when tracking steps, and we'd like to help.

The resources below will provide some guidance:

Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy

Manage Health data on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch

There are apps like Pedometer++ on the App Store you can try to focus on your step count. Works with iPhone, and has a complication that can be added to your Apple Watch face for "real time" feedback.

Take care.

iPhone X here. Ever since I upgraded to iOS 15.2 , I also get a lag (sometimes 15-20 minutes) between real time walking and steps counted in the Health/Steps app. But that is not all. When I look at my current day’s steps on the (d/w/m/6m/y) graph, it will often switch back to another day, by itself. I have to manually move forward to current day. But it does so many times before stabilizing to the current day.
